Short Hunter Boots for the Summer Rainy Day

Hey everyone! So sorry for my lack of a blog post on Friday and Monday. My family was busy at my brother's college orientation and we moved him in for a summer program at his college! We're so excited for him, but it's also so hard as we've never been apart before.
(NOTE: I planned to shoot a different outfit for today's post, but on photo day rain attempted to ruin the day... no need to fear, I adapted and came up with a suitable alternative... what to wear on the rainy summer day! xo!)

I'm absolutely obsessed with Hunter rain boots... like I'm actually embarrassed to publicly admit how many pairs I own, so we're going to keep that on the DL. Lol! I love the traditional height rainboots.

However, in the summer heat, the traditional rain boot is just way too warm, so these short Hunter rain boots are essential when it rains in the summertime.

I love this outfit for hot rainy days!

5 Ways To Get Your Life Together Over The Summer

I know summer is the perfect break in your life, but it is truly a time you do not want to waste. Today, I am going to share 5 simple tips to help you maximize your summer to create a healthier, happier you!

  1. PLAN - Grab your super cute agendas and some fun colored pens & get to work! Plan all of your trips, school events, college application deadlines*, important functions, etc. up until NEXT summer. It's sounds overkill, but it will make your life so much easier as these times approach. It's also great for when you try to make additional plans when your schedule is up to date!
  2. CLEAN - Summer is the most perfect time to clean out, refresh, and feel renewed. Go through your closet, your desk, the contacts in your phone.... all aspects of your life that accumulate clutter will also add to the clutter of your mind. Devote 20-30 minutes a day to cleaning up and getting rid!
  3. BUCKET LIST - Summer is the ideal opportunity to do those things you say you'll always do! I know it's easier said than done, but make a real effort to accomplish something on your bucket list: take a cooking class, learn a new skill, anything.... you'll be much more fulfilled entering fall after having done something outside your comfort zone during the summer!
  4. GET HEALTHY - Throw on your gym clothes and burn some calories, opt for the salad instead of the cheeseburger... use this time to make the small changes to your life. With a much more relaxed schedule (which sometimes isn't that relaxed), summer can be a time to truly devote to your own well-being.
  5. REST - Perhaps the most important, rest while you can! As the fall rapidly approaches, the hectic and chaotic routines are sure to resume as well. Be sure to rest, relax, and rejuvenate over the summer, so you are energized and ready to take on the new year.
Additional tips:
-I find it not only helpful, but essential to keep up a routine throughout the summer. It helps make you productive throughout the day and ensures that you upkeep some type of schedule.
- Keep an alarm and make daily to-do lists to ensure that you accomplish your goals each day.

I hope you found this helpful and seek to implement these tiny tasks to your hectic summer schedules.

Hot Pink for Hot Days

I don't know if you're experiencing the scorching heat, but it is HOT in Nashville. Sweltering. Can't leave the house... HOT!

When I saw this Lilly Pulitzer swing dress in bright, fun hot pink, I knew it'd be a cool, breathing companion to face the heat of the summer... and boy am I glad I bought it!

The gold wedges are not only adorable but complement this dress perfectly. (And believe it or not, they're actually pretty comfortable!) They'll be in my closet for years to come, as their gold color is in high demand!

There's nothing like an ice cold Coca-Cola to cool down a summer day!

My adorable photographer :-) xo!

Sucker For Seersucker

I didn't find out until I went to link this dress, but it's called the "Sarabeth" dress.... SO FITTING!

Although it doesn't photograph as well as I'd like, this dress is the epitome of darling. The layered levels of shades of blue seersucker is just xoxoxoxox.

I absolutely love the skirt, it's the perfect amount of flare without being too much. It keeps the skirt still flattering, which I LOVE!

Cheap Can Be Chic

Today I thought I'd share a cheap and trendier alternative to my typical style. However, this throw-on shift is the most comfortable throw-on dress I've ever owned.

My first Target clothing item, this dress definitely doesn't break the bank and definitely aligns with a more hip trend.

It's so comfy, yet perfect for lazy days and is super nice to throw on after a long day spent in the sun!

Love you all, and I hope you have a super fabulous day!

Black and White

I am drawn to classic styles: I love the cuts, feminine details, and timeless taste. When I saw this Kate Spade dress, not only did my heart soar, but I knew it'd be a staple that I could rely on for years to come!

I love the longer length, it's so classy and adds an additional level of versatility. It will be a perfect partner for interviews, meetings, etc. throughout college and young adulthood.

These shoes are another favorite of mine (I own both colors and wear them religiously). They are scalloped and have a bow... need I say more! And kitten heels are my absolute favorite - I love how dainty they are!

The cut is so flattering, and I love the feminine feel whenever I put it on!

Pineapple Of My Eye

I'm back and planning roughly 3 posts a week throughout the summer! I'm so excited and I really hope y'all stick around.

I've always loved pineapples. They're the symbol of hospitality and honestly just super precious.

When I saw this pineapple Lilly print, my heart skipped a beat. This skirt has already proven to be one of my summer favorites, and it's super easy to dress up and down, which is always a bonus. Versatility is key when it comes to adding pieces to your wardrobe.

I love how much attention to detail L.P. pays. Even the zipper is topped with a pineapple charm.

These pineapple flats might just be the most adorable shoes I have even seen! Paired with the skirt and earrings, I definitely made sure to incorporate as much pineapple as possible (you can't go overboard ... at least I don't think so!).
