Fourth of July

Wow! I truly cannot believe the Fourth of July just occurred. 4th of July is my absolute favorite holiday and I normally go all out with festivities and attire. This year, the 4th slapped me in the face, as I had no idea that it was coming. (Where has summer gone?)

That being said, this year Fourth of July was squeezed in-between trips, summer reading, house organization, room designing, sleeping in, lazy days, you get the picture. Life got in the way of my precious holiday.

For as much as I love the Fourth of July, my family doesn't enjoy it enough for my standards. Well this year, I think they had a ball as well. We invited three other families to our club's big 4th of July dinner followed by a fantastic firework show. Us "kids" gathered on the top of the driving range for an eye level view of the fireworks and enjoyed fun, light-hearted conversation. I think it is safe to say that this year's more simple approached Fourth of July will be hard to beat.

My ensemble (if it can be called that) was very last minute. So, I want to share with you two of my four looks (because I forgot to photograph the other two) from this year's 4th of July.

This first look (here) from Kayce Hughes was the perfect dress to start my Fourth of July. The blue and white gingham and red tote (not pictured) scream "America." I paired this precious sundress with Tory Burch wedges (the most comfortable wedge ever). I loved this easy, yet adorable outfit.

This second look (here), which is technically my fourth and final look, is another adorable dress from Kayce Hughes. The red and white polka dot dress made a statement at the party and the hat was the perfect detailed touch. Paired with a navy Vineyard Vines sweater around my neck, a loyal pair of Jack Rogers, and a precious Kate Spade tote, I felt like a million dollars!

Although these outfits were last minute and simple, I loved them! I have started an initiative to begin to slow down and seek joy in the everyday as opposed to the glamorous visions I portray in my head.

Here are some other pictures from the fantastic day:
(sorry that I didn't take more. The most effective way of documenting my life is through my snapchat story - I know, it's ridiculous. Anyways, here are a few shots of yesterday's encounters.)
A stop at a candy store that cost $60 dollars for just a few things.
I mean, one must document highway robbery, right?? ha!
We enjoyed a fantastic firework show!!
(Can you believe this iPhone photo??)
Here are a couple of the "girls" striking a pose in our red, white, and blue! :-)
I loved all the navy accessories added to ensembles yesterday!

The night ended with a glow stick exploding all over my skin and new tote.
After a somewhat-silent breakdown, I calmed down a bit.

I hope you had a lovely Fourth of July!

xoxo,
Sarah Beth
